An exorbitant Rs. 100 as ATM service charge

The National Savings Bank (NSB) was set up with the idea of promoting the savings habit among the poor. It is strange that such a bank should take Rs. 100 as service charge for a cash withdrawal using an ATM card.

This is an exorbitant levy. Most of the other banks charge a nominal sum of Rs. 5. And why is it that the NSB name boards have big letters in English and very small letters in Sinhala? The Sinhala letters are so tiny as to be hardly visible.
