Ratnam and Police enjoy comfortable wins

Last week’s line up of matches in the Holcim FA Cup 2010 saw a number of closely contested matches as well as an abundance of goals being scored.

Ratnam SC and Police SC enjoyed comfortable victories over Old Bens SC and Colombo SC respectively. Java Lane just edged out Saunders SC by scoring a single goal in a very tight encounter. In another close fixture Don Bosco SC overcame Maligawatte YSC 1-0.In the previous weeks’ matches, Super Sun SC and Colombo SC both earned victories through nail bitingly close sudden death penalties.

Super Sun SC edged out Kalutara Park SC 6-5 while Colombo SC scraped through to a 7-6 win over Negombo Youth.Old Bens SC, Don Bosco SC, Blue Star SC , New Young SC all enjoyed comprehensive victories over Green Field SC, Jupiter SC, Renown SC (Hatton), and Pelican SC respectively.

Renown SC (Colombo) had to fight hard to eke out a 1-0 victory over Hyline SC in their encounter played out at the Sugathadasa Stadium. Java Lane SC were also involved in a keenly contested battle against Cooray SC, however they emerged clear victors after netting in two goals.
