A number of artistic cinematic creations made by veteran and internationally acclaimed directors are slated to be released on CEL circuit cinemas from the mid June.
Starting with ‘Vidhu’, a children’s story made by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Asoka Handagama, Regal cinema Colombo and other CEL circuit cinemas will screen other films directed by Lalith Pannipitiya, debutant Sumith Rohana, Nita Fernando and Vimukthi Jayasundara.
Handagama’s film will be followed by young filmmaker Sumith Rohana Thiththawalgala’s maiden film ‘Sthuthi Newatha Enna’ (Anticipating Re-arrival)
Set in the last part of the ethnic war, the film is played by Hemasiri Liyanage, Damitha Abeyratne, Bimal Jayakody, Jagath Beneragamaand Jayani Senanayake and Mangala Madugalla who also plays the role of producer.
‘Sangili’ the second direction of Lalith Pannipitiya who is famed for ‘Political Jokes’ will be released next. ‘Sangili’ will be followed by veteran actress Nita Fernando’s ‘Theja’.
Boodee Keerthisena’s latest film on the human drama that took place during the last phase of Sri Lankan war titled ‘Maathaa’ also to be released in the CEL circuit cinema. The main roles of ‘Maathaa’ will be played by Saumya Liyanage, Sarath Kotelawala and Vasantha Vittachchi.
Vimukthi Jayasundara’s latest film which is not titled yet is also to be released on CEL circuit cinema theatres. The film is produced by Janitha Marasinghe whose comedy ‘Mago Digo Dai’ is on a successful run. |
