Barista brings tropical delights

Barista Lavazza world renowned coffee, made of Arabica and robusta coffee beans has expanded its product range of edible shakes, tropical teas and fruit blasts to suit the tropical climate. Twenty five new varieties of beverages inspired by exotic tropical regions and temperate climes will be available at all seven outlets in and around Colombo.

“While bringing truly original Italian coffee flavours to Sri Lanka, we have now introduced rich cold coffee blended with chocolate, smooth ice cream and Irish cream flavours together with fruit blasts and edible shakes,” said Shalinda Hewapathirana, Training and Development Manager of Barista Lavazza.

The main aim of introducing cold coffee such as ‘Black Forest Blast’, ‘Irish Blast’, ‘Irish Caramel Frappe’ and Barrista Blast’ together with shakes such as ‘Loaded lychee smoothie’- lychee pulp blended into a fresh, creamy smoothie, ‘Muffin Shake’- thick shake blended with blueberry muffins and caramel flavours, ‘Guava Goodness Smoothie’ – thoroughly smoothie made with guava juice and ice cream were to suit the tropical climate and gives rich coffee flavours that one can enjoy with the tropical climate.

‘Barrista also has introduced a variety of ice teas with the refreshing flavours of Moroccan mint, pomegranate and lychee’ which guarantee to uplift any mood and brighten up the day, Shalinda added.
With over a year of research going into perfecting their new menu, Barista have not only launched new blends but have revitalized some old favourites such as the Barista Blast and Black Forest Shake.

The New Topical Delights menu features a unique selection of beverages which range from iced teas to fruit blasts and edible shakes. The menu also includes signature items such as the Muffin Shake, a thick shake finely blended with blueberry muffins topped with caramel flavour, and a range of signature fruit infusions adding a blast of freshness that is guaranteed to revitalize and tantalize the taste buds.

The new range of iced teas on the menu features an exotic selection of fresh fruit flavours that are not found anywhere else such as the Pomegranate Pop and Lychee Love.

“Customers can now surrender to a burst of exciting new flavours and a wave of new tastes created by an imaginative list of ingredients of fruits, nuts and berries. The Tropical Delights menu offers a refreshing range of hot and cold beverages that are all bound to refresh and revitalize customer as only a tropical getaway would.”

Speaking on the future plans Shalinda also said that there were plans to take Barista to outstations like Negombo and Kandy.
