Veteran filmmaker Sumithra Peries’ ‘Maya’ will be shown at 12 noon on
Saturday August 21 on Rupavahini channel.
The film show is part of Lester-Sumithra Film Festival screened on the miniscreen. ‘Maya’ based on Manel Abhayaratne’s novel is played by Ravindra Randeniya and Swarna allawarachchi. Lester’s film ‘Beddegama’ (Village in the Jungle) based on Leonard Wolf’s novel will be screened on August 28 and features Joe Abeywickrema, Malani Fonseka, Henry Jayasena and Vijeya Kumaratunga.
Mrs. Peries’ ‘Gehenu Lamai’ will be screened on September 4 and stars Wasanthi Chathurani, Ajith Jinadasa and Jenita Samaraweera. On September 11, ‘Desa Nisa’ directed by Lester will be screened. It stars Joe Abeywickrema and Sriyani Amerasena. |
