Seven schools pulled out the last moment in the Under 18 Division 1 Milo Cup worked off at Royal Sports Complex yesterday. Out of 24 teams only 17 turned up. All the favourite teams booked their position for the Quarter finals to be worked off at the same venue today.

Denzil Darling the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SSRFA) speaking to the Sunday Times showed his displeasure of schools pulling out at the last minute. He went on to say that in case they want to pull out they should have given at least five days notice so the organisers could get other replacements.

Highest points for the day came via Trinity College who thrashed C W W Kannangara MMV by 43 to nothing. Mahanama received a walk over and received a bye as none of their group teams turned up for the event.

St Anthony's, St Johns, St Thomas', Kingswood, D S Senanayake and St Joseph’s were the sides that pulled out from the tournament.
