Phoenix shows its creative side

The ‘Otherside’, Phoenix Ogilvy’s creative festival was held recently at the Barefoot Gallery, celebrating the diverse talents and creativity of its staff, among them artists, sculptors, photographers and performers.

‘Otherside’, has since its debut in 2000 evolved from a reason to ‘let your hair down’ to an expression of ‘ultimate creative freedom’ unhindered by creative briefs and project deadlines. The ultimate aim of the event is to inspire people, no matter what profession they are in, to explore their ‘Otherside’, as creative expression is a preservation of an individual’s sanity.

Phoenix Ogilvy chairman Irvin Weerackody, says “A man or woman needs creative sustenance from other than his or her job to keep sane; this is a truth many industry peers will undoubtedly agree with and I hope that Phoenix Ogilvy’s ‘Otherside’ will inspire people to awaken the creative devil within them.”

Phoenix Ogilvy, the most awarded agency in the country this year became the first advertising agency to win Sri Lanka a Gold award at Adfest Lotus Awards 2010, in Tokyo, Japan recently. This comes hot on the heels of the agency’s stellar performance at Goafest Abby Awards 2010 where they won silver and bronze.
