ZEYLAN Edu Consultants, the newest entrant into the educational arena in the country commenced its operation by conducting a free introductory session on Islamic Banking and Finance last Sunday in its auditorium.

The event was very successful and was graced by two eminent scholars in the country, viz. Dr MAM Shukri and Sheikh Mufti Yoosuf Haniffa, who are also the Directors of the institute.

A well respected and renowned Islamic Banking personality, Mr. Azad Zaheed, delivered a lecture on "Islamic Banking and Finance - a fair financial system" which was well received by the audience. Mr Sabri Abdul Cader, another experienced Islamic Banker elaborated on the Islamic Banking industry in Sri Lanka and some of the widely provided services by Islamic banks in the country.

The audience of this inaugural session consisted of staff of leading banks and financial institutions in the country, professionals of other fields who were keen to know the intricacies of this emerging industry and school leavers.

With this successful session, Zeylan with its experienced faculty members , in the Islamic Finance industry is planning to offer Islamic Finance courses/ training session to corporate on exclusive basis.

CERTIFICATE IN PSYCHOSOCIAL INTERVENTION & COUNSELING

The following programmes will be offered in the near future:

• An internationally recognized online MBA degree
• Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies undergraduate degree
• Practical Islam for international school students
• Ethics and Shari'a based business courses
• Arabic language for students

Soft skills programmes such as Memory and Brain Development, Public Speaking, etc., are also planned to be conducted by Award winning trainers from overseas.

Providing consultancy and advisory services for financial institutions to set up Islamic banking/ finance units is another service offered by ZEYLAN.
