‘Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation’ has changed its new presentation style to the old theme and adopt new responsible reporting with a new team of presenters.
SLRC has decided to add significant alterations to the tri lingual news cast in order to give a novel approach.
Under this project, a team of pleasant, well experienced and knowledgeable news anchors was selected and trained to empower the news presentation. These news anchors are specially assigned to news presentation and will not assigned to present any other programme.
Under the direction of the present Chairman Sarath Kongahage, the news division of SLRC has identified the present flaws and taken a decisive step to bring back ‘Rupavahini News’ to the great tradition of its golden era.
An attractive appearance is given to the news studio by through modifications while preserving the SLRC identity. Keeping the initial theme music as a guide, the theme music of Rupavahini News is also recomposed by a panel of renowned musicians.
‘Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation’ has been the pioneer in building a great tradition in news reporting by introducing its own unique style of journalism blended with Sri Lankan identity. In this endeavor, the efforts contributed by the past chair personnel, news directors and the members of the staff is highly appreciated. The dynamic talent of news casters of the yesteryear is also appreciated’ said Mr. Kongahage at the ‘Rupavahini News’ re-launching ceremony last week.
‘However, this unique identity of ‘Rupavahini News’ has been tampered in the recent past, due to various social transformations occurred in Sri Lanka’ he added.
News producers and reporters are well trained in the latest innovative theories of news reporting to ensure the highest standards of news presentation, therefore setting up a paradigm for journalism students and other media organizations.
The technical staff of SLRC News is also facilitated with the highest technological known-how as well as the latest equipment. By this step, SLRC news transmission is expected to reach the highest level in technical standards.
A special advertising campaign to communicate the beginning of this innovative news cast was launched using television commercials, newspaper advertisements and billboards as communication mediums. This whole campaign was organized as an environmental friendly activity.
The news and current affairs section of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation also added a new colour to the ‘Headlines’ programme, which is presented with regard to the national news papers. The news and current affairs section reveals that this step is taken in parallel with SLRC’s transition in entry towards the great tradition of news reporting.
‘Actually through the ‘Headlines’ programme we present all the important news items published in the national news papers in the country is an unbiased manner. Every morning by 4.45 SLRC receives all the national newspapers in Sri Lanka. After that the staff is putting every effort to arrange them in a presentable way for the program. They start the programme by 6.30 and concluded it by 6.55 a.m.’ said Tilak Mahagamage, the director of the news and current affairs section.
