Sri Lanka’s internationally renowned fashion designer Dinesh Chandrasena gets into a chatty mood under the spotlight on Prime TV’s “Celeb Chat’ with host Kumar de Silva at 9.30 pm on Monday 06 December 2010.
Now 38, the Royal College old boy talks about his 15 year stint at Claire’s Collection, in Los Angeles USA where he was the principal designer and his encounters with the stars … designing Hally Berry’s wedding gown … comparing rings with Angelina Jolie at the Oscars … designing the costumes for the movie “Miss Congeniality” starring Sandra Bullock … and of course sketching and designing for Dame Julie Andrews for the “Princess Diaries”, which he considers an unforgettable moment.
He fondly recalls the tower of strength his mother, the late Delerine Munzeer, was, to both himself and his sister Dinushka, and chats about ‘the love of his life’ his 8 year old niece Tehani.
Sharing homes between Los Angeles, and Colombo (with regular stints in Paris), Chandrasena is currently based in Sri Lanka where he is in charge of business development (Asia region) for couturier Georges Hobeika, who recently made his Asian debut in Colombo.
