Sri Lanka Tourism on Tuesday celebrated the 600,000 tourist arrival greeting a British couple --- Nick Davis, CEO of Merchant Maritime Warfare Centre and his partner Ms.Layla Dayani --who are here on a business cum holiday trip.

Tourism officials headed by Sri Lanka Tourism Chairman Dr. Nalaka Godahewa welcomed the guests at the Bandaranaike International Airport with Dr. Godahewa saying, “This marks a significant moment in the history of tourism. Sri Lanka is now on the world map as a unique safe destination.”
He said that they hope that arrivals next year during “Visit Sri Lanka 2011” will exceed 700,000.
The couple was presented with a 6 night, 7 day package which includes hotel accommodation, ground transport and entrance tickets to historical tourist sites in the island. |
