Communications’ specialists to share expertise at Feb. 3 seminar

Some of Sri Lanka’s most successful and eminent experts in Communications and Public Relations in Sri Lanka will come together to share their expertise, personal experiences, and hands on insights into the art of effective communication at a communications seminar titled “Communications Solutions for Organizational Success” on Thursday, February 3 at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Auditorium.
This event focuses on the need for vibrant and innovative communication and Public Relations techniques, keeping abreast with modern global trends to accelerate organizational growth in Sri Lanka in the new decade.

The first session of the seminar will feature three presentations with discussions: “Towards a New Culture of Organizational Communication in Sri Lanka” by Dr Mahim Mendis, Dean Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Senior Lecturer in Communication Studies, Open University of Sri Lanka, “Power of Public Relations” by Manique Mendis, Communications Specialist and “Maximizing the potential of Social Media” by Amantha Perera, Foreign Correspondent and Media Trainer.

The second session will provide participants an opportunity to interact with some top corporate specialists in communication in a session titled “Making Organizational Communication Effective: Pragmatic Solutions.”

The panel discussion will be chaired by Rezani Aziz, Head of Corporate Affairs, Standard Chartered Bank and will have Dr Vijith Kannangara, Chairman, Smart Media, Q and E Advertising and Affno; Rohantha Athukorale, Head of National Portfolio Development-Sri Lanka and Maldives United Nations (UNOPS); Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, Chartered Marketer and Management Consultant; Ravi Fernando, UN Global Compact Focal Point - Sri Lanka and Nimal Gunewardena, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Bates Strategic Alliance PR.

The seminar is presented by Rainbow Resources Lanka, Pvt Ltd, a new training and consultancy service provider.
