The popular Sri Lankan star, Chitral ‘Chity’ Soma pala will come alive at the Margarita Blue on Friday and Saturday,14th and 15th January along with maestro Derek Wickrama nayake and Mirage.
Chity will be launching his latest ‘World Cup song’ dedicating to Sri Lankan lions at the Margarita Blue along with the remix version of a popular song sung by his late mother Chithra Somapala.
Chithral, who is based in Germany for the past two decades has made name for himself with many chart hits in Europe. He has recorded, toured, and made guest appearances with several bands around worldwide, including popular European bands ‘Avalon’, ‘Faro’, ‘Firewind’, ‘Red Circuit’ and ‘Power Quest’ to name a few in the rock-metal history.
His unmistakable style of singing combines the passion of blues, soul and vigorous melody with the heaviness of hard rock and Passionate Bluesy Melodic touch. Chity has been compared favourably to Ronnie James Dio (Black Sabbath, Rainbow), Klaus Meine (Scorpions), Johnny Gioeli (Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell) and has established himself as one of the leading vocalists in the world.
According to his agent in Colombo Chity will be back in Colombo towards the end of 2011 with his band to have a full scale concert with several other top international stars on cards. |
