Colombo Dance Platform, a craetive dance ensemble was held at the Park Street Mews and Nelung Art Centre in December last year.
The traditional dance troupes like Chithrasena Dance Company, Rangika Jeewantha and Floating Space dance academy were featured at the Nelung Art Centre on the first day of the festival, while Mohan Sudusinghe, ‘Meranga Dancing Company’, Venuri Perera, ‘nATANDA dance theatre of Sri Lanka’ and Nilan’s Arpeggio Creative Dancing Academy were seen in action on the second day of the festival at Park Street Mews.
Nilan performed ‘Shango Shango ho’ at this Colombo Dance Platform curated by Tang Fu Quen.
‘Shango Shango ho’ is the name of the performance based on AimeCesaire’s post Colonial rewrite of Shakespear’s ‘Tempest’.Colombo Dance Platform is organized by Goethe Institut in Colombo.
‘Isisara’:Melodies of Isipathana
‘Isisara 2010’, a mega musical evening organized by the Junior Old Boys Association of Isipathana College, Colombo was held at the Youth Theatre, Maharagama recently.‘Isisara- Sanhinda Sathsara’ was a presentation of Aesthetic Unit of the College under the guidance of Principal Kamal Bandara Illangasinghe.
Several popular singers and amateur school singers from other schools were featured at this concert.

New fashion studio by Sharm and Tammy
One of Sri Lanka’s foremost fashion designer’s Sharmini Seneviratne of Silk Wrap together with Tamara Senanayake (Tammy), former top model of Sri Lanka, will be launching a new catwalk studio to train models with a average height of 5’.5” who will become future catwalk models of Sri Lankan ramp. They will get a complete training in catwalk and photography modeling, fashion makeup, for ramp , tv, and print media.
Initially this fashion studio will be launched in Colombo, Kandy and Galle. On completion of training they would be made professional models who will be on the ramp for top fashion designer’s local and overseas shows, tv commercial’s and for print media ads.
Enrolling and training commenced from mid January .
