Thilanka de Zoysa, currently CEO of Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CFL), has been appointed its Managing Director with effect from April 1. The company is a subsidiary of Ceylon Biscuits Ltd.

Mr de Zoysa possesses 20 years of experience in general management, launching his career in the plantation sector. During his stewardship as CEO, Convenience Foods - a pioneer in Textured Vegetable Protein commonly known as Soya Meat manufacture in Sri Lanka - became market leader under the brand name Lanka Soy.
The company has shown a remarkable progress during the last eight years with turnover growing to Rs 800 million per annum from Rs 250 million earlier.
The company has also diversified from manufacturing soy base products to other food products and presently manufactures Jelly and soup mixers. The company is also planning major expansions into other food products as well, officials said. |
