Trinity shock St. Peter's to gain morale boosting win

Defending league champs St. Peter's experienced their first ever defeat in almost two years when Trinity tarnished their opponent's illustrious run with an morale boosting 34-10 win ahead of the 67th Bradby Shield encounter.

The match was played amidst a keen spectatorship at St. Peter's ground in Bambalapitiya where Trinity made an explosive start to run off with two tries within 10 minutes from the start. Trinity led by 12-10 at half time with a try and a converted try against the Peterites' two unconverted tries. The Trinitians gave Peterites less room to move around after the resumption and went on to score four more tries and one conversion.
