The Company under the Marketing leadership of its Managing Director MTM Naufal has ventured into several Consumer durable products, which synergizes with their present Marketing Operations.
One such product is the Manufacturing and Marketing of high quality Socks of all types, at affordable price to the different Market segments. Research revealed that the bulk of Socks imported to Sri Lanka does not meet the required quality, This situation served a poor deal to Consumers and it’s a negative impact to the Sri Lankan economy as well. To tackle this issue, KUI started Manufacturing Socks a year back, thereby creating a massive impact in the Socks Market, badly affecting the imports of foreign Socks into Sri Lanka.
With opening of the North and East markets, the company is geared of catering to the local socks demand, and presently manufacturing substantial quantities with modern Hi-tech machineries to meet the potential export market too.
Our employees, who were intensively trained overseas, are engaged in the socks production process meeting to Global Standards, producing branded socks, colored socks, sports socks, casual wear socks and school socks.
He further revealed that the company has diversified its business into the manufacture and Marketing of rain coats, mosquito nets, and will introduce quality Men’s Underwear’s as well, to the local market soon under the Penguin Brand.
The company with Economics of scale and Economics of scope, operates its large modern factories at Kadugannawa and Gampola by providing larger number of employment opportunities.
Mr. Nawufal also noted that Kandurata Umbrella Industries (Pvt.) Ltd, won continuously the prestigious ISO 9001:2008 industrial standard certification , as an endorsement of its system, and was awarded the “SOORIYA SINGHA” certification from the Mawbima Lanka Foundation recognizing Kandurata umbrellas as a local brand.
Late the great Entrepreneur Mr. M.H.M.Thajudeen founded the Kandurata Umbrella Industries which began as a small manufacturing business over three decades ago, was continued by Mr.M.H.M Siddeek (Former Chairman), and Managing Director Mr. M.H.M.Deen. Today, it is under the dynamic Stewardship of Deshamanya Dr. M.T.M Nawushad (CEO / Chairman) and Mr. M.T.M Naufal (Managing Director) who manages the Organization.
