As the Old Boys Association of STC celebrates its 125th year in existence, several events have been planned by the Old Boys and well-wishers to commemorate this momentous occasion. The Thomian Fair is one such event in the calendar for 2011/2012.

The main objective of this Fair will be to ensure that everyone present has an enjoyable time as well as to raise funds for the infrastructure needs of the College. ‘Thomian Fairs, over the years have acquired a reputation for being well organized and patronized events providing high class entertainment to all age groups and we are sure that this year’s event will be better than the previous fun fairs organized by the OBA’ said Dr. Vijaya Corea.

It is commendable that at a number of top end corporate companies and business in Colombo have joined hands with the OBA of STC in ensuring that a memorable fun fair is made available for all patrons expected to throng the College Grounds on all three days. The Thomian Fair will be powered by Dialog as the Platinum sponsor, and in keeping sync with the brand promise of The Future. Today, the crowds are guaranteed a unique experience with the Interactive Dance Station and the groovy music of Colombo’s hottest DJs.

The fun fair will include a wide variety of fun events such as the Galaxy, Roller Coaster and other rides. To ensure that everyone has a great time, the organizers will set up 2 Merry-Go-Rounds a Giant Wheel and other fun rides that will provide non stop entertainment for everyone present. The College Stamp Club together with the Postal Department will have a Stamp Exhibition at the Fair.

A wide array of Corporate & Government stalls will be displaying their products at the Fair grounds. The STF, Army, Navy and the Air Force will also display the latest equipment at the Fair. Model Railway, Car Shows, Rifile Shooting, House of Horrors, Amusement Activities, Games of Skill & a wide variety of other stalls will also be available.

Also for the first time in the school fun fair circuit, Gold FM & Sun FM the premier radio stations will partner the Radio Club of STC & run request stalls for those interested in listening or dedicating their favorite songs to their loved ones. Gold FM will operate a high end nightclub with its own DJ’s as well as top of the range DJs in today’s local club scene which is sure to draw in crowds of all ages.

Music to suit your mood from rap to hip hop to retro will be belted out with an enhanced sound system to ensure that the party goers are blown away into a galaxy of good time. A group of young enterprising Thomians will also operate a stall to educate the crowd present on Animal Rights & Welfare where leaflets will be distributed. Again it will be a first in any school fun fair.
