Jayasuriya Academy emerge Champions

Sanath Jayasuriya Cricket Academy clinched the Regggie Ranatunga Memorial Trophy when they beat National Sports Club by five wickets in the final of the Asian Cricket Academy Invitation under 13 tournament played at the Muthuwella Playground recently. Chasing a modest 110 for victory in 20 overs SJC Academy reached the target in the last ball to seal a thrilling victory.

Their chase was led by a stylish 36 from Avishka Chenuka and a good allround performance by Yoshitha Athukorale who scored a quickfire 23runs after capturing three wickets with his right arm leg breaks. SJC Skipper Buddheen Perera was adjudged as the Best Batsman of the tournament while Jehan Fernandopulle was picked as the Best Bowler of the tournament. SJC Academy was Coached by Nishantha Hennayake, Farcy Annies and Chamara Guruge. The tournament attracted eight teams and was held successfully for the second consecutive year. On their way to the final SJC defeated Clombo Cricket Club 'A',Asian Crcket Academy,Colombo Cricket Club 'B'.Member of Parliment Arjuna Ranatunge was the chief guest for the final.
