At home, the government has identified tourism as a key sector propelling the country’s economic growth.
The moment the tourists arrive in the country, (business or leisure) they need comprehensive information about the country, places to visit, accommodation etc. Hence, to fulfil the growing information needs of the tourists, SLT Rainbow Pages and Sri Lanka Tourism has joined hands to publish a comprehensive tourist directory for both leisure and business.
In many parts of the world, such comprehensive Tourist directories are available in hotel rooms as a value addition for the tourist industry. As such, this joint venture of these two leading organizations meets a national requirement of having a tourist directory available in hotel rooms for the benefit of the guests.
Rainbow Pages, the only directory information provider in our country, backed by Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the flagship telecommunication provider to the nation, used its technical know-how and experience in publishing the directory with a wealth of information. Rainbow Pages Tourist Directory 2011/12, is focusing the current tourist season and this will be distributed to all leading Hotels and Guest houses, enabling them to keep the directory available in rooms.
