‘Red Circuit’ to rock at US Metal Fest

‘Red Circuit’, Germany based rock/metal band will be performing at the famous US Premiere Metal Festival in Atlanta in October. ‘Red Circuit’ is the band of famous progressive rock/metal producer Markus Teske.

The Band was formed by him in 2002 with the veteran Sri Lankan rock vocalist Chithral Chity Somapala. Markus and Chity worked together for a long time and released their hit single ‘Trance State’ in 2006 and the single ‘Homeland’ in 2009, the successor to the début hit.

‘Red Circuit’ is a popular metal band in Europe. They gained popularity in the Progressive Metal Arena and this will be their first performance on the other side of the Atalantic.

Three top metal bands from Germany are billed to perform at this Premiere Metal Festival, which is a sellout already. All 3 bands were produced by Markus Teske including VANDEN PLAS and MOB RULES.
‘I’ve been working with Markus since 2002 on all productions and involved in most of the singing. I’ve sung the ‘Cricket World Cup Song- Believe in the Dream’ and this man is an unbelievable talent all round’ Chity said.

‘After the US Metal Festival, we will be getting back to the studios for recording our 3rd ‘Red Circuit’ Album and looking forward for a grand performance in Sri Lanka in December to all the Progressive Metal Fans and Friends. ‘Red Circuit’ comprises of Michael Stein: Drums, Chris Moser : Guitar,

SAWF Musical Evening at Taj

A Musical Concert will come alive at the Crystal Upper Ball Room (Heritage Building) - Taj Samudra on Sunday, 11 September. The show is expected to commence by 6.30pm. This musical concert is organized by South Asia Women’s Fund (SAWF).

South Asia Women’s Fund (SAWF) is a regional fund for women based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This organization works to promote and advance issues on women’s empowerment across five countries in South Asia including Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This concert on Sunday 11th September is an event organized, not only to raise funds but also to raise awareness about the SAWF and its involvement in the South Asian region. The concert will feature performances by both local and international artistes.

Renowned Indian violinist Sunita Bhuyan is the international artiste for the evening.  Sunita, whose music is of Hindustani style, was recently awarded the prestigious ‘Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award’ for her contribution to classical music in India. While her classical and traditional pieces are loved by many she is also reputed for her contribution to Bollywood sound tracks.

The other feature at the concert will be of Sri Lanka’s very own Elephant Foot. This group hails from the multi cultural town of Hikkaduwa. Elephant Foot brings alive multiple beats that come together in a unique fusion, which is equivalent to that of the finest drum lines of the world. This upcoming and one of a kind band, is known for its ability to charge up the atmosphere and captivate its audience in the midst of refined yet exhilarating beats.
