The Island wide population census scheduled for next month has been postponed following a printing error in the census forms, a Finance Ministry official said.
The first phase of the proposed census which included house-to-house visits was due to begin on November 24 and continue till December 20.
The official said a new printing machine was being imported from Singapore to print the forms and the census might be delayed for at least three months.
Some 75,000 officials were recruited to carry out the census, but the training programmes for them have been put on hold. |
