US-based IT company Virtusa, which has two Sri Lankan service delivery centres, recently announced that it had been listed in the “100 Best Small Public Companies in America” rankings published by business bible Forbes. The company was ranked 22nd on the list on account of its US$ 228 million sales, as well as increases in sales (19%) and Earnings Per Share (54%), and Return on Equity of 14%. Also indicated, the company has a market capitalisation of US$ 339 million.
According to the announcement; "To qualify for inclusion, companies must be publicly traded for at least a year, generate annual revenues of between $5 million and $1 billion, and have a stock price of at least $5 per share. The rankings are based on measures that include earnings growth, sales growth, and return on equity in the past 12 months and over five years, as well as stock performance relative to each company's peer group." |
