After hearing that Mr.Janak Hirdaramani, will be relinquishing his duties as a director of his company, and retiring in the near future, I thought that it is my duty, as an ex-employee of Comtextile for over 20 years, to pay my respects to him, for recruiting me to his company, and thereafter, training and counseling me to achieve my long standing ambition to rise slowly in the area of quality assurance in the apparel industry and trade.
He is a pioneer and a leading limelight in the apparel industry and trade in this country, who has provided employment to thousands of workers, to join together and work for the company, but also for the country.
I cannot recollect any other pioneer in the trade, especially in the apparel sector, who has done so much for the upliftment of this industry for the country in order to compete with other apparel industrial countries, specially in Asia.
He has rendered a great and noble service to this industry and for the economic development of the country, and he never wanted personal glory and publicity for himself.
We can say without any reservation that Mr. Hirdaramani and the apparel trade are inseparable and interlinked, and we are proud to have such a great son of Sri Lanka.
