Strengthening the ties of collaboration with Massey University, Professor Robert Anderson, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Chris Moore Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) and
Director of Teaching and Learning College of Business and the Professor Tony Norris, the Head of the Institute of Information and Mathematical Sciences at Massey University recently visited Sri Lanka where they exchanged the modalities of further collaborations with GISM, opening enormous scopes for Higher Education and The first batch of GISM’s Massey University pathway programme is to proceed to Massey University, New Zealand, in December 2011 to complete the Degree. GISM offers support services for these students in processing of visa, guidance for accommodation, guidance for finding part time employment and prepare them for the life in New Zealand.
In New Zealand, these student can work 20 hours per week and unlimited hours in holiday periods and after the degree, these student are to get New Zealand work permit for one year initially and an extension of one more year. GISM offers students other rare facilities such as bank loans with easy repayments after completion of the Degree programme, mentoring support and hostel facilities. Apart from these, GISM considers that it’s her bounden duty is to prepare the student suitably for an independent life abroad by developing their work skills etc. even before leaving Sri Lankan shores.
