With loads of experience of over 20years in the field of tertiary education Royal Institute of Colombo has further broaden opportunities to our students to gain an internationally recognized degree by introducing a pre-degree foundation course. Considering the very few choices available to a large number of students in Sri Lanka who drop out at the secondary education system after GCE A/levels, but who wish to eventually pursue a degree programme, this foundation course which allows them to undergo an intensive learning process has been introduced.
The pre-degree foundation course of 5months duration is conducted on week days and is intended to give the students not only an orientation in preparation to undertake degree studies, but also an in-depth knowledge of the important core subjects, to make it easier for them to follow BSc or LLB degrees and achieve excellent results. It would also be considered as a preferred entry qualification for admissions to the degree programme of the University of London.
Royal Institute of Colombo consistently produced excellent results maintaining outstanding class rates and pass rates in the region of between 97% to 100% and some students achieving “Worlds Best” results. In the year 2010 RIC produced a 97% pass rate at the degree level.
RIC on its partprovides state of the art facilities and other resources for students to go through a rich educational experience highlighting the fact that in education, at what ever level, the journey is as important as the final destination.
The automated library which is one of the best in Sri Lanka has an extensive collection of text in the respective fields of study, supplementary books and other reading material recommended by the University of London. Furthermore students are also provided on-line access to the University of London library as well as the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) of the university’s portal to enable them to access many resources and external sites.
