Waiariki Institute of Technology is a government owned institute located in Rotorua, the heart of New Zealand’s tourism and cultural history. Established in 1978, Waiariki is one of the largest tertiary institutes outside the university centres. Originally developed as a centre for adult and trades education, The Institute has been offering quality vocational studies for 30 years. The Institute has a student population of around 9,000 full- and part-time students, of which 200 of these are from overseas. It began to offer bachelor degree programs in the early 1990s.Waiariki has strong links to local and national training and governmental bodies ensuring students obtain relevant and job-ready qualifications when they graduate. Furthermore, Waiariki Institute offers many programs affiliated with Lincoln University, Waikato University and Canterbury University.

Waiariki has recently introduced a special 1 year degree completion program for Sri Lankan Edexcel HND students.
Students, who have an Edexcel HND in IT or Business with 50% or more marks, will be able to obtain two years cross crediting providing them the opportunity to enroll in to the final year of one of the following degrees. This means you just have to study one year to earn a high quality New Zealand degree.
Waiariki now offers you admission into the final year of:
4 Bachelor of Computing, Communications and Technology (Level 7), or
4 Bachelor of Applied Management (Level 7)
