An entry has been made at a police station by a former top athlete to the effect that she and her child have been bitten by a dog belonging to a former top brass. It is reported that this top brass is residing near her residence and that the dog has bitten them whilst passing the top brass’ house. There is another story that this dog has been let loose with the knowledge of those residing in this house in order to settle an old grudge with the athlete.
Get rid of those directors!
The president of a leading sport met the Big Man in Sports recently to discuss why this particular sport has been in the doldrums in the past. The Big Man in Sports has pointed out that there are many Directors to this sport and they are doing hardly anything to uplift the standard of the game. The Big Man in Sports has suggested that all these directors should be shown the door and to make use of youngsters to uplift the game, a suggestion that even the Top Man agrees.
Added income
A certain ground is being favoured to stage matches by those in control. The players however have been complaining that this particular ground is not suitable for these practice games which are being held to accommodate a foreign team that is to visit the island in the near future. But the man in control wants to use these grounds, whatever happens. It is said that he is helping this club which owns the ground in order to bring in the added income.
Not doing their jobs
The country is gearing to stage a major sports event and a certain lady who is in charge of the arranging the competition says that the directors of the competition are not doing their jobs. Now an inquiry has been launched into the incident.
Picking favourites
A leading schools sports body is now preparing to stage their Colours Nite Awards. Earlier the practice was to select those in line for awards by going through their performances. Now the judges want to know the names of these high performers. It is said that some of these judges have favourites among the players and are keen to give them the awards and are seeking the names of the achievers and not sticking to the earlier practice of picking the winners by going through their performances alone. A clear case of picking favourites!
