Jadeja inspires winSHARJAH, India's acting captain and part-time bowler Ajay Jadeja seized three wickets in one over to inspire a 20-run victory over England in the Sharjah Cup on Friday. England were 196 for six in pursuit of a victory target of 223 in the 50 overs day-night match when Jadeja brought himself on for the 47th over because his specialist bowlers had almost completed their quotas. Jadeja's gamble — he had not taken a wicket in one-day internationals was rewarded as he swung the game India's way by dispatching Robert Croft, Neil Fairborther, who hit England's top score of 57, and Darren Gough with his medium pacers. England slumped to 199 for nine and were dismissed for 202 in the 48th over, giving India their first victory of the triangular tournament. England have lost their first two games. India's total was built around the batting of Mohammad Azharuddin, who stroked an unbeaten 74 off 85 balls, and Sadagopan Ramesh, with 67 from 97 deliveries. Forty-six-year-old Trevor, who has played just 3 Tests and 20 one-day internationals for Australia is reported to be in charge of fielding in the Australian Cricket Academy and instrumental in raising the standard of fielding in the Academy.
