Sri Lanka Insurance has announced the resignation of its Group Chief Executive Officer, Chandana L. Aluthgama, effective August 1, 2025.
Mr. Aluthgama assumed duties as the Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation in 2018. His leadership continued with Sri Lanka Insurance Life Ltd. following the segregation in 2024. Over his tenure, he has been instrumental in guiding the organisation through various transformations and achieving significant milestones, serving under five government administrations and collaborating with eight chairmen, the company said in a media release on Tuesday.
In a statement, Mr. Aluthgama said: "Leading Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, and subsequently Sri Lanka Insurance Life Ltd, has been one of the key highlights of my career. This journey has been extraordinary, and I am honored to have walked alongside such incredible colleagues." He extended his heartfelt thanks to the Chairman and board of directors, employees, customers, shareholders, and partners for their trust and support.
Mr. Aluthgama has decided to step down to pursue career opportunities that align more closely with his personal aspirations at this stage of his career.
