Grand 7 Hotel & Restaurant and its proprietor Chinthaka Jeewantha Wijesekara were adjudged as the Best Hotel and Restaurants Chain of the Year 2023 (Large Scale) and the Best Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 (Hotel and Restaurant Sector) at the Pinnacle Sri Lanka Awards 2023 held at Galle Face Hotel. The Grand 7 Group operates two Tourist Board classified star class hotels serving foreign tourists and Sri Lankan clientele. The chain's continental restaurants serve international cuisine including German, Italian, English and Chinese dishes. Grand 7 Hotel Kesbewa, consists of 14 deluxe luxury rooms, star class restaurant, pool, rooftop VIP lounge and serves continental food.
Group Chairman Chintaka Jeewantha said the recognition has motivated him to invest more in the hospitality category in the future and they have developed the Kesbewa Rest House to four star category with state of the art accommodation, restaurants and a banquet hall. The Grand 7 Lounge BYOB is also scheduled to be opened this year. Also Grand 7 Hotel Piliyandala will be added soon to the chain. Wijesekara said the Grand 7 Group has started to import organic wines and spirits to Sri Lanka which is a first such move with the hope of giving best quality products to their guests.
