Maliban Biscuits recently took proactive measures to help aid the Gampaha District General Hospital, in combined efforts against the fast-spreading, deadly virus. The leading biscuit manufacturer donated multiple biomedical equipment to the hospital which is crucial to treat critically ill patients.
With a total investment of Rs. 4 million, the company undertook the role of providing state-of-the-art ICU equipment to the Gampaha District General Hospital. The full functioning ICU bed and the ventilator consisting of the latest equipment will assist the hospital and staff to ensure the best treatment and recovery for critically ill COVID patient. In a media release, Maliban said it also donated other necessary ward equipment such as 250 oxygen masks and 60 non-rebreather masks.
Ms. Kumudika Fernando, Group Managing Director of Maliban Biscuits stated, “As we face heightened cases of COVID-19 patients on a daily basis, we need to unite forces as a nation to mitigate the spread of the virus and its harsh consequences. It is with great pleasure that we extend our gratitude towards the noble efforts made by all frontline workers and staff members who attend to infected members of the community.”
