Nations Trust Bank launches Smart ATM with Digital Remote Withdrawal Transaction

Bringing together smart transportation and smart banking at Sri Lanka’s first Multimodal Transport Centre, Minister of Transport, Pavithra Wanniarachchi and Nations Trust Bank Chief Executive Officer & Director, Priyantha Talwatte inaugurated the Nations Trust Bank Smart ATM at the Makumbura Multimodal Center – Kottawa (MMC) on the October 23.

 

The Minister unveiled the Smart ATM with a future-ready fully digital, remote withdrawal via third party cash tokens, marking a first for Sri Lanka. The event took place with the participation of Monty Ranatunge – Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Chairman of MMC and the senior management of Nations Trust Bank, the bank said in a media release.

 

“Backed by technology and innovation to deliver an unparalleled banking experience, the new machine will allow customers to withdraw their preferred mix of cash notes; whether it is to purchase bus or train tickets or eat a meal at a restaurant at the MMC. Leveraging on features introduced by the bank for the first time in Sri Lanka, commuters on-the-go will be able to save frequently used transactions such as withdrawals, bill payments and fund transfers as ‘favourite’ options, saving time and unnecessary hassle,” it said.

We hope that this Smart ATM will allow more people to witness how the bank’s simple and convenient banking solutions has been crafted with the purpose of enhancing the lives of customers,” said Priyantha Talwatte, Chief Executive Officer & Director at Nations Trust Bank.

 

The Smart ATM offers an array of banking facilities that adapt and cater to the various unique needs of customers, including making convenient payments for utilities such as phone bills, water, electricity and even card payments.
