Business

The global business networking platform, Network In Action (NIA), officially launched its Sri Lanka chapter at an exclusive event held at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. The invite-only evening brought together a selected group of entrepreneurs, professionals, and business leaders from across industries. Hosted by NIA’s Sri Lanka Regional Partners, Jayathas Kamalanathan and Pamatheesan Kopalapillai, the launch offered a firsthand experience of how NIA operates and what sets its networking model apart from conventional approaches. The event kicked off at 6 p.m. on 9 July, and featured a keynote presentation from the leadership team, followed by a live demonstration of an NIA-style group session.

Aruna Maganaarachchi (Second NIA Member of NIA Sri Lankan Chapter), Jayathas Kamalanathan (Partner - NIA Sri lanka), Mr. Satyam Garg (Executive Director - NIA), Pamatheesan Kopalapillai (Partner - NIA Sri lanka), Shobhit Yadav (Country Head - India Sri Lanka & Middle East)

NIA, which started in the United States, has expanded across more than 200 cities worldwide. It combines in-person group meetings with a tech-driven platform that helps members track referrals, measure return on investment (ROI), and maintain strong, consistent professional relationships. The Colombo chapter follows this same structure, offering monthly curated meetings, performance tracking tools, and a focus on building long-term business value through warm referrals and shared learning. Guests had the opportunity to meet the founding members of NIA Colombo and connect with like-minded professionals in an environment designed for meaningful conversation. The hosts shared their vision for building a high-trust business community in Sri Lanka which offers structure, accountability, and access to global standards.

Prof. Sunil Chandrasiri (Special Guest)

“Sri Lanka has no shortage of talented entrepreneurs and professionals. What many are looking for is a consistent way to grow, surrounded by the right people. That’s exactly what we’re building with NIA Colombo.” said Jayathas Kamalanathan. Pamatheesan Kopalapillai noted, “This isn’t about selling or self-promotion. It’s about real connections that lead to real growth.” To learn more about NIA Sri Lanka or to request an invitation to future events, interested individuals can contact [srilanka@networkinaction.lk] (mailto:srilanka@networkinaction.lk) or call 0777667102 / 0772999519.
