The Colombo Tea Auction had 4.87 million kg of tea on offer this week with 2.19 million kg being Low Grown Main Grades and 1.6 million kg were High and Mid Grown Main Grades.
The Low Growns had met with good demand, the Asia Siyaka Market report stated.
In the Leafy grade catalogues a few select best liquoring OP1s held firm; below best and others were firm to lower.
There was good general demand in the Ex-Estate catalogues. Select best Western BOPs gained Rs.50 to Rs.100; others were firm. BOPFs generally held last levels, but some poorer sorts lost Rs.50 per kg. Nuwara Eliya BOPs moved up sharply Rs.200 and more. Very few BOPFs were on offer.
