Sri Lanka has seen a drop in rubber production in March due to wintering and dry weather conditions that prevailed during the month, Forbes and Walkers rubber market report for March stated.
The month's average price for latex crepe 1X dropped by Rs.40. The average price of No. 1s weakened respectively by Rs.36 per kilo. No 2s and 4 moved up, respectively by Rs.7/50 and No 3 moved up by Rs.31 and 25 per kilo.
Scrap Crepe marked a price reduction during the period. 1X Brown monthly average price was down Rs.9.58 whilst 2X Brown decreased by Rs.21.75, price of the popular grade 3X Brown lessened by Rs.17.50 and 4X Browns declined by Rs.12.
Price of RSS No.1 improved during the month. The average price of RSS1 was at Rs.686.50 while RSS 4 declined by Rs.4 per kilo compared to February. Rest of the grades marked a price increase, whilst RSS3 remained unquoted. (SD)
