SriLankan Airlines Cabin Crew felicitated by NSB on International Women’s Day.

In recognition of International Women's Day, SriLankan Airlines cabin crew members were recognized for their unwavering service in repatriating stranded citizens from the epicenter of the Coronavirus pandemic in Wuhan, China. The National Savings Bank dedicated International  Women’s Day to appreciate the outstanding role played by front-line workers who overcame adversity during the Coronavirus pandemic, the airline said in a media release.

In this regard, 10 front-line workers who contributed to the betterment of the country during the pandemic were saluted on March 08^th at Waters’ Edge under the patronage of Ms. Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. In the presence of Buddhika Manage, Group Head of Human Resources and Cabin Services of SriLankan Airlines and NSB Chairperson Mrs. Keasila Jayawardena.

Among those women were Jenali Jansz (Cabin Service Supervisor) and Amali Hettiarachchi (Senior Flight Attendant) from the Inflight Service Delivery department of SriLankan Airlines. These loyal staff members volunteered to operate Flight UL1423, the airline’s mission of mercy that brought back Sri Lankan students from Wuhan, China, on February 1, 2020. This was among the first repatriation flights operated by SriLankan Airlines to bring back stranded Sri Lankan citizens.
