Ceylinco Life says it is again providing an opportunity for children across the country to try their luck to qualify for the second edition of its ‘Ran Daru Charika’ – a tour of iconic places around Colombo in a fun - filled journey around the city. Linked to the company’s annual distribution of school timetables country-wide, the Ran Daru Charika competition will provide an opportunity for thousands of children to compete for 600 seats -- for 300 children, each accompanied by a parent or guardian -- on this tour of Colombo, according to company media release. The distribution of timetables for the 2015 school year began on 15th November 2014. Each timetable has a detachable coupon to be filled in and returned to the nearest Ceylinco Life branch. Winners for the Ran Daru Charika will be chosen by a lucky draw designed to ensure that every one of Ceylinco Life’s 250 branches will be represented by a child, the company said. The cut-off date for sending in completed coupons is Saturday, 31st January 2015.The tour will begin from the Water Park Battaramulla and will include visits to the Colombo Harbour, BMICH, Independence Arcade, Independence Square and Nelum Pokuna. Meals and refreshments will be provided by Ceylinco Life. From the children who do not win a seat on the Ran Daru Charika City Tour, Ceylinco Life will select another 800 children for attractive consolation prizes. Children travelling from distant areas will be provided transport to and from Colombo and where necessary, overnight accommodation, the company said.
