Colombo shares close mixed on heavy sell off

The third trading day of the week on Wednesday saw a stumble in the Colombo equities due to heavy retail investor sell off, analysts said. "This largely stemmed from the policy uncertainties along with unimpressive policy direction which will affect the margins of many corporates," an analyst said.The All Share Price Index decreased 0.14 per cent to settle at 7,300.77 whilst the more liquid S&P SL 20 Index gained 0.02 per cent to close at 4,119.72. The turnover for the day was Rs. 986.8 million.
