Colombo shares up on institutional and offshore trades

Colombo equities gained on Friday, closing the day on a positive note due to index weighted counters closing higher with institutional and offshore entities active in the market. According to analysts trading on Friday saw returned investor confidence backed by improved financial performance of the corporates. The All Share Price index gained 0.12 per cent to stand at 7,314.91, with the S&P SL20 gaining 0.48 per cent to close at 4,133.01 on a turnover amounting to Rs 1.2 billion.
