These comments were made by S.S. These exhibition would be held on March 8-10 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), Colombo.
Speaking of the event, he said that this is the 9th edition with the first show being held in 2010. It is a big event now with more than 170 international companies from six different countries.
With GSP + now in place, things are moving in a positive direction and the international manufacturers want to do business with Sri Lankan apparel manufacturers and textile manufacturers.
During the launch, Mr. Sarwar said that CEMS Global USA and CEMS Lanka have put in great efforts and held meetings and trade shows for the textile and apparel industry, logistics and shipping and power and energy and also partnered with business associations to create important business and business platforms in the form of trade shows for the benefit of Sri Lanka.
He said they are the first company to come to Sri Lanka after the war as an international exhibition organizer and ever since then have launched series of exhibitions in different fields with the latest being ‘The Bike Show’ with motorcycles. The organisers plan to bring down E-bikes (a bike that can be powered by electricity as well as propelled by pedals) to Sri Lanka and the show is scheduled to be held in August this year. (QP)
