A suspect wanted for attempting to murder a resident in Panadura was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) while trying to flee the country to Malaysia today, Police said.
He was identified through face recognition software installed at the BIA.
The suspect was identified as Peshala Ishara de Silva, 28.
He had attempted to gun down Hasitha Dulaj in the Hirana area of Panadura earlier this month.
He was about to board a flight to Malaysia when he was arrested and handed over to the CID.
