Former senior public administration officer Sujatha Cooray assumed duties as the new Chairperson of People’s Bank on Tuesday morning.
This appointment was made by President Maithripala Sirisena after dissolving the board of directors of the bank last month.
Ms. Cooray served in public administrative service for more than 30 years. She also served as the former Secretary to the Ministry of Ports and Highways and also as the Assistant Secretary to the Ministry of Finance. (Bandula)
