The German delegation of investors, in Sri Lanka last week to consider investing in the failed Central Investment and Finance Ltd (CIFL), left on Saturday without any finality on the proposed investment.
The 5-member delegation of Vandell Financial Services SA, Germany had meetings with the President, Finance Minister and other officials. Depositors said they were not invited for these meetings.
Earlier the CIFL Depositors Association (CIFLDA) said a preliminary MoU between the German investors and the authorities would be signed on the way forward. Latest reports say the delegation is likely to return. (Quintus)

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
