The Nations Trust Bank PLC has announced the appointment of Gihan Cooray as Chairman of the Board of Directors, with effect from December 1.
Mr. Cooray takes over as Chairman following the retirement of Krishan Balendra who stepped down after having served the stipulated maximum 9-year tenure as a Director of Nations Trust Bank PLC.
He is Group Finance Director of John Keells Holdings PLC and has overall responsibility for the Group’s Finance and Accounting, Taxation, Corporate Finance & Strategy, Treasury & Information Technology functions (including John Keells IT) and John Keells Research. He is also a Director of several other companies in the John Keells Group, according to a company statement.
