SriLankan Airlines chairman Ajith Dias and airline CEO Suren Ratwatte have scheduled a briefing for the media on Wednesday, October 5 to discuss the loss—making airline’s plans for the future.
The airline has so far attracted eight offers for management control which are being processed, airline officials said.
“The Chairman and CEO of the company (will) share with you (media) the current status of the airline, their vision and plans for the future of the airline,” the airline said in a statement on Monday. (SD)

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
