IN PIX : Windy Goonatillake whose song ‘Aiyyo Samine’ was selected as the most Sensational Song of the Year (2023) at the 16th Edison Awards returned to the island yesterday. Sanuka Wickremesinghe who provided music for the song and the lyric wrtier Pottvil Asmin took part in the awards ceremony.
"Thank you for this incredible honor Edison Awards India. I like to thank the whole Ayyo Saami team for their hard work; thank you Asmin ayya for your devotion and passion towards your craft’, Windy said in a message posted on her Facebook.
Windy’s parents Rookantha Goonatillake and Chandraleka also accompanied them.
Windy and her team were welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Airport .

The Colombo High Court today (28) sentenced former parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra to three years of Rigorous Imprisonment over charges of the involvement of an abduction.
In his special statement, President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that debt restructuring agreements will postpone all bilateral loan payments to foreign countries until 2028. Additionally, Sri Lanka will have until 2043 to repay these loans on concessional terms.
