Veteran artist S.H. Sarath’s latest exhibition”Rekha Sankha” (Lines and Shapes) will be held from August 16 - 21 at the Artist’s Gallery, No 18A, Sarasavi Gardens, Nawala Road, Nugegoda. It will be open for public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sarath is focusing on the theme of goodness projected through fine lines in his latest exhibition.
Artist Hema Shironi presents her latest exhibition ‘Families ‘Not’ in the List’ at the Saskia Fernando Gallery from August 15 to September 5. Hema Shironi’ s art incorporates found materials, mismatched fabrics, and loose threads to document the shifting socio-political landscape of the country. Deeply rooted in the observance of the history of colonization, civil war, displacement and migration, which she highlights through personal stories and lived experiences, she combines embroidery, mythological imagery, national symbols, bricolage, and installation in her works.
An exhibition of museum quality canvas prints of Gustav Klimt’s Masterpieces opens on Friday, August 16 at the Sky Gallery of the Fareed Uduman Art Forum. Viewers can take a close look at some of Klimt’s most celebrated works at the exhibition which continues until Sunday, August 25. Viewing times are from 9.am to 5 pm every day. Known for his richly textured and gold-adorned canvases, Klimt’s art continues to resonate with lavish beauty and emotional depth. The exhibition will feature a curated selection of Klimt’s best paintings, each reproduced to honour the exact dimensions of the original artworks.
On August 22 at the Lionel Wendt two of Sri Lanka’s leading classical musicians - Dushyanthi Perera (cello) and Ramya De Livera Perera (piano) – will take the stage at the Lionel Wendt Theatre to present their first full recital for cello and piano together.
