The Classic Car Club of Ceylon and Land Rover for a third year running presented ‘British Car Day’, an event, which showcased British cars and motorbikes from the 1930s onwards in true festival spirit – today at the Galle Face Hotel.
“A ‘classic car’ is considered an older automobile with enough historical interest to be collectable and worth restoring.
The Classic Car Club of Ceylon is thus dedicated to provide the foundation for the preservation and restoration of the finest of these automobiles ever built. British Car Day is a celebration of the ‘Golden Age’ of the British Automotive Industry.
SML FrontierAutomotive (Pvt) Limited, the Land Rover people, have always been a major part of the British motor industry and sponsored this year’s event.
“We believe in the heritage and importance of classic cars whilst at the same time showcasing our vehicles in the right setting to a group of enthusiasts, who like Land Rover owners, have an affinity and love for their amazing automobiles,” said SML Frontier Automotive Managing Director, Sheran Fernando.
The event took place at the Galle Face Hotel today, Sunday, January 31. Over 80 cars were be on display from 9 a.m.
