The Shi-En Ikebana and Floral Art Society of Sri Lanka held their annual exhibition at the Marino Beach Hotel last weekend, 8th February, living up to its theme ‘Paradise in Bloom’ by featuring flowers in all their glory.
Japanese ambassador Akira Sugiyama was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Advisor to the Association, Harijanto Satiawan, the well known floral designer from Singapore, was the guest of honour.
32 members participated in the exhibition creating Ikebana and western arrangements with a varied range of flowers and foliage.
Part proceeds were in aid of the Sahana Medura Project, established by the Oblate of Mary Immaculate (OMI).
